Empowering Our Community: A Week of Learning and Support

Echoes of the Week at Trabajadores Unidos

This week, teacher Anna taught us the names of the garments and seasons.

This week at Trabajadores Unidos, we began with English classes for all those interested in learning the language and improving their opportunities. We also had the honor of hosting representatives from Georgetown University for a meeting with our leaders, where we shared experiences and knowledge about the reality of our community.

Throughout the week, we provided employment counseling, support in applying for driver's licenses and DC IDs, and issued new TU membership IDs for our colleagues. Additionally, we joined the celebration organized by the Afrolatino Institute in honor of Afro-Latina and Indigenous women during Women's Month, reaffirming our commitment to diversity and recognizing their struggles.

We close the week with a renewed commitment to continue working for the community and the well-being of Latino immigrant day laborers in Washington, DC. We continue the struggle and organizing!
